·       Drug License grants the permission to allow enterprises or individuals to engage in businesses related to drugs & cosmetics

·       No enterprise can operate a business dealing in

o   Drugs

o   Medicines

o   & Cosmetics without obtaining a drug license

·       Things related to the drug license are

o   Drug Regulatory Authority in India

§  Central Drug Standard Control Organization

§  Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

§  Indian Council of Medical Research

§  Drug Technical Advisory Board

§  Central Drug Testing Laboratory

§  Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission

§  National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority

o   Eligibility of Drug Store Licensing

§  Has to be a registered pharmacist

§  Have the experience of working in a drug store

o   Procedure

§  License Form 20 & 21

§  Application on Form 19

§  Challan

§  Appointment letter of a registered pharmacist

§  Consent of the pharmacist

§  Copy of Registration certificate

§  Pharmacist passport size photograph

§  Affidavit of the pharmacist

§  True copy of rent for the premises

§  Copy of Aadhar or PAN Card

§  Affidavit of the proprietor

§  Affidavit of partnership

§  Premises layout blueprint

§  Premises electricity bill

§  Copy of Refrigerator bill

§  Rent agreement

o   Filling of Application

§  Application are filled online

§  Payment mode also available in online format

§  All document are scanned and uploaded at the time of filling the application form

§  Filed documents are verified by the inspector

o   Inspection & grant of License

§  After filing the application, the drug inspector personally visits the shop to verify the documents and correctness of the information

§  The physical verification includes

·       Availability of Refrigerator

·       Retail area (10Square Meter)

·       Wholesale area (15square Meter)

·       Brick Wall with plaster

·       RCC Ceiling

·       Minimum Height (8feet)
