Introduction Top of Form Top of Form ·        Anticancer drugs, also known as antineoplastic or chemotherapy agents, are used in the treatment of cancer, a condition characterized by uncontrolled and abnormal cell growth. ·        These drugs aim to kill or inhibit the growth of cancer cells, while ideally causing minimal damage to normal, healthy cells. Definition ·        Anticancer drugs are medications used to prevent, inhibit, or treat cancer by targeting rapidly dividing cells. ·        They work through various mechanisms to destroy cancer cells, slow their growth, or prevent their spread. Classification 1.      Alkylating Agents o    Example : Cyclophosphamide, Cisplatin o    Mechanism : These drugs work by adding alkyl groups to the DNA, which leads to DNA cross-linking and breaks, preventing cell division and causing cell death. 2.

Definition ·        Vaccines o    Vaccines are biological preparations that provide active acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease. o    They typically contain an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins, or one of its surface proteins. ·        Sera o    Sera (plural of serum) are preparations that contain antibodies obtained from the blood serum of an immune individual or animal. o    The
